Girls Volleyball Defeats Warde in Straight Sets

Girls Volleyball defeated Fairfield Warde 3-0 to advance to the State Tournament quarterfinals. Ava Kunkel and Bailey Wright led the way. Ava had 9 kills, 6 digs and an ace. Bailey Wright had 6 kills, 17 assists, 8 digs and 4 aces. Adriana Castillo added 10 kills and Alexa Palo added 4 aces.  Up next, the girls head to Southington to face top seeded Southington in the Quarterfinals this Saturday at 3:30 .

Boys Soccer Defeats Darien in OT, Moves on to CIAC Quarterfinals

Boys Soccer came from behind yesterday to defeat Darien by a score of 2-1 to advance to the Class "LL" quarterfinal.  Jaden Lima scored the game winning goal late in the 2nd overtime with an assist from David Onianwa who also scored the tying goal late in the first half.  Luca Solustri also picked up an assist.  Connor Hughes made 6 saves to contribute to the win. 

The team's record improved to 12-4-3 on the season.  Next up, the team will face top seeded Notre Dame of West Haven Friday, time TBD.

 

Girls Volleyball Defeats Hamden, Moves on to 2nd Round of CIAC

The Trumbull Girls Volleyball team defeated Hamden 3-0 in the first round of the state tournament. The Eagles were led by Paulina Bykowski with 9 kills, 2 digs and 4 aces, Bailey Wright with 21 assists, 8 aces and 3 kills and Ali Link with 11 digs  and an ace. Adriana Castillo added 6 kills and Ava Kunkel also added 6 kills, 5 digs and 2 aces. They will face Fairfield Warde in the 2nd round on Thursday.

Girls Cross Country Finishes 5th at LL Meet

Congratulations to our Girls Cross Country team for finishing 5th at the Class LL State Championship at Wickham Park on Saturday. The team of Maura Kane, Emma Fahy, Jane Hall, Nikki Adorante, Lauren Ash, Rebecca Drury, and Sofia Rossi posted a team performance that has qualified them for the State Open Championship on October 31st back at Wickham Park. It also ranks them among the top 11 teams in the state. Congratulations!

 

 

Girls Volleyball Wins in Quarterfinals, Moves on to Semis

The Trumbull Girls Volleyball team defeated Ridgefield 3-0 in the FCIAC quarterfinals! The Eagles were led by McKenzyi Bell with 6 kills and 5 blocks. Jenna Silhavy added 7 kills. Paulina Bykowski had 5 kills and 3 aces. Callie McGillicuddy added 16 assists and Bailey Wright added 15 assists and 5 kills. The Eagles will play in the FCIAC Semifinals on Monday against Darien.

Girls Volleyball Celebrates Senior Night with a Win!

The Trumbull Girls Volleyball Team ended their regular season with a 3-0 win over Westhill. The Eagles celebrated their 4 seniors: Ava Kunkel, Bailey Wright, Jenna Silhavy and Natalia Borowska. Adriana Castillo led the Eagles with 12 kills and Ava Kunkel led with 12 digs. Ava also added 6 kills and 6 aces. Bailey Wright added 18 assists, 3 blocks and 3 kills. The Eagles finish the regular season at 15-5 and 13-2 in the FCIAC.

Girls Volleyball Improves to 11-2 in the FCIAC

The Trumbull Girls Volleyball team defeated New Canaan 3-1. They were lead by Jenna Silhavy with 11 kills and 1 block, Ava Kunkel with 9 kills, 10 digs, and 1 ace and Adriana Castillo 7 kills and 5 block. Ali Link added 4 aces and 9 digs. The Eagles are now 11-2 in the FCIAC and 13-5 overall. They play Ludlowe on Monday.

Field hockey beat Danbury on Wednesday, 5-0. Nola Antonio had 2 goals, Piper Khamvongsa, Abby Burke and Sydney Carroll each had one goal. 

Girls Volleyball Beats Ridgefield in Straight Sets

The Trumbull Girls Volleyball team defeated Ridgefield 3-0 to pick up their 10th win in the FCIAC and improve to 12-5 overall. The Eagles were lead by Ava Kunkel with 9 kills, 9 digs and 4 aces. Paulina Bykowski added 5 kills, 2 blocks, 9 digs and an ace while McKenkyi Bell had 4 kills and 3 blocks. Ali Link added 8 digs and 3 aces. Callie McGillicuddy added 24 assists.

Girls Cross Country Finishes 4th at FCIACs

The Girls XC team placed 4th at the very competitive FCIAC Championship at Waveny Park in New Canaan. The team was led by Maura Kane (1st team All-FCIAC), Jane Hall (2nd team All-FCIAC), Lauren Ash (2nd team All-FCIAC), Nikki Adorante (2nd team All-FCIAC), and capped off by Emma Fahy. Congrats on a strong performance and good luck at the State LL State Championship next Saturday, October 26th at Wickham Park in Manchester, CT.

Girls Volleyball Wins Over Staples

The Trumbull Girls Volleyball team defeated Staples to pick up their 11th win on the season and 9th win in the FCIAC. The Eagles were down 2-0 before storming back to win 3-2. Ava Kunkel had 10 kills, 24 digs, 2 blocks and 2 aces. Jenna Silhavy had 8 kills and 2 blocks. Paulina Bykowski had 10 kills, 16 digs and 4 aces. McKenzyi Bell added 6 blocks and Adriana Castillo added 6 kills included the game winning kill. The Eagles will face Ridgefield on Wednesday at home.

Girl Volleyball Wins at Norwalk

The Trumbull Girls Volleyball Team improved their record to 10-5 with a 3-0 victory over Norwalk. The Eagles were lead by Ava Kunkel with 4 kills, 5 digs and 6 aces, Jenna Silhavy with 7 kills and 2 blocks and Callie McGillicuddy with 15 assists and 5 aces. The Eagles are now 8-2 in the FCIAC and will face Staples Monday at 5:30.

The Girls Volleyball Team defeated Stamford 3-0 yesterday to improve to 9-5 and 7-2 in the FCIAC. Adriana Castillo had 10 kills and 2 blocks to lead the Eagles. Ava Kunkel added 9 kills and 9 blocks while Bailey Wright added 7 kills, 20 assists and 6 digs. Ali Link added 13 digs and 2 aces. Paulina Bykowski had 6 kills and 12 digs. The Eagles travel to Norwalk on Wednesday.

Girls Volleyball Wins at Wilton

The Trumbull Eagles picked up another win defeating Wilton 3-0. They were led by Mya Plonski with 5 blocks and 2 kills, Paulina Bykowski with 8 kills and 4 aces and Callie McGillicuddy with 19 assists and 3 aces. The Eagles are now 6-2 and 4-0 in the FCIAC. They will travel to Central on Thursday evening.

Girls Volleyball Beats Warde, 3-0

The Trumbull Girls Volleyball team defeated Fairfield Warde 3-0. Ava Kunkel led the way with 15 kills and 5 digs. Paulina Bykowski had 5 kills and 4 aces. Bailey Wright added 7 aces, 15 assists and 9 digs. The Eagles picked up their second FCIAC win and are now 4-2 on the season.

Boys Soccer hosted Warde for their first home game of the season on Friday night, pulling out a 2-1 victory.  Christian Moura scored the Eagles first goal (assisted by David Onianwa) and David Onianwa scored the Eagles second goal (assisted by Mateus Almeida).  The team faces McMahon at home on Tuesday night, 5:30 start on the Cork.

TRUMBULL ATHLETICS: 2023-2024 YEAR IN REVIEW

 

REGISTRATION FOR FALL ATHLETICS WILL OPEN IN JULY

We will be transitioning our registration platform over to Final Forms, a registration site now used by almost all of the FCIAC schools.  The platform will allow you to register and upload a copy of your athlete's physical in one place, streamlining the registration process.  We hope to have it ready to go in early July.

Please be sure your athlete has a current physical and that you have a copy you can upload!  Physicals are good for 13 months, and your athlete will not be cleared by the nurses until they have a current physical on file for them! The new site will only ask you to upload a copy once per year.

BOYS LACROSSE WINS BIG ON SENIOR NIGHT
The Boys Lacrosse team celebrated Senior Night with a win over Brien McMahon last night, 12-4.  
 
Highlights include Ryan Crosby with 7 caused turnovers, Reggie Campbell with 4 goals/1 assists and Max Bielski with 3 goals. 
 
The win punches their ticket to the LL state playoffs for the first time in 2 years.  Congratulations to all the Seniors who were celebrated last night!
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL WINS IN STRAIGHT SETS, MOVES ON TO STATE SEMIFINALS
The Trumbull Girls Volleyball Team defeated Fairfield Warde 3-0 in the Class LL state quarterfinals on Saturday.
The Eagles were led by Ariana Gjonbalaj with 17 kills and 5 blocks, Ava Kunkel with 10 kills, 9 digs and 2 aces and Bailey Wright with 34 assists, 2 aces and a block. Jasmine Johnson added 16 digs and Claire Davis added 8 kills.
The Eagles won 25-22, 25-22 and 25-15 to advance to the Class LL state semifinals! They will face Darien on Wednesday, 6pm start time at Ludlowe HS.
